Santa Pod Raceway stands on the former RAF Podington airfield, a site once defined by precision, teamwork and service. In the 1960s the airfield became home to Santa Pod—widely recognised as Europe’s first permanent drag racing venue—and with it, a new chapter of speed, engineering and community in the UK.

Medics have been part of that story from the beginning. Early volunteer cover has grown into today’s dedicated, paramedic‑led service with trackside response, a purpose‑built medical centre and integrated control‑room support. Along the way, our practice has evolved with the sport—learning from incidents, adopting better equipment and refining protocols to keep competitors and spectators safe.

SPR Medical reflects this heritage: modern, disciplined and rooted in Santa Pod’s culture. From grassroots meetings to international events, the same principles endure—preparation, professionalism and care for people—delivered on the very runway where it all began.
